L28ET

Here is the L28ET that we will be swapping in to the 240z.  I figured while it was out of the car, might as well clean it up as much as I could with out going too crazy... 8hrs and 1 gal. of Simple Green later this is what I got.

Stripped off the AC compressor, and the power steering pump as they are not needed.  Also took the time to remove the manifolds so we could get the other side of the block clean as well.  Found out the T3 turbo is pretty well worn, so a rebuild kit will be ordered for that before it goes back in the car.  I plan on getting the valve cover powder coated a wrinkle red finish with the raised parts being bare metal.

Brakes

The car had been sitting for about 15 years so needless to say the brake system needed a complete overhaul.  Using 4 piston calipers from a 1983 Toyota pick-up I was able to do a cheap upgrade on the front brakes.  The rears will still be utilizing the stock drums.  I plan to do a rear disc conversion at a later date.

The Car!

Here are a few quick shots of the car as it was when I started working on it.  I have many plans for this car and hope to keep a pretty good log of my progress here on the blog.
